BCMStack vs Noggin

Noggin is a broad resilience platform: ten solutions, no-code designers and a large template library. BCMStack is a business continuity specialist for Saudi Arabia and Qatar. The deciding question is whether you want to configure SAMA workflows or have them built in.

TL;DR
  • If you are SAMA-regulated — BCMStack opens the regulator notification, starts the clock and escalates reminders the moment an incident is classified. Noggin maps SAMA through workflows you configure.
  • If you need one platform for everything — Noggin adds safety, security, investigations, third-party risk, SMS and voice alerts, and native mobile apps. BCMStack stays BCM-only.
  • If in-region hosting is mandatory — Noggin offers a UAE hosting zone. BCMStack hosts in the EU by default; in-region hosting is not shipped yet.
Specialist vs platform

One discipline, or ten solutions

Both cover the core of business continuity: impact analysis with dependencies, plans, exercises and reporting. The difference is what sits around that core, and how much of it you configure yourself.

Risk, BIA, continuity plans, crisis events, incidents, exercises, call trees and reporting, shaped around ISO 22301 and the SAMA BCM Framework. Each customer gets a separate database schema. No safety, security or case management — that is a different platform’s job.

Noggin — integrated resilience platform

Ten solutions on one platform, from business continuity and operational resilience to safety, security and investigations. No-code designers for forms, workflows and dashboards, and a library of 275+ pre-configured modules. Business continuity is one solution among ten.

Built in, not configured

What happens when an incident is classified

Noggin’s SAMA whitepaper maps each framework principle to capabilities, mostly custom workflows you build. In BCMStack the regulator notification is product behaviour from the first minute.

  1. 1

    Classified medium or high

A SAMA notification opens automatically with its deadline: 4 hours for high, 24 hours for medium. Both are configurable.

  2. 2

    Drafted from the facts

AI drafts the notification only from the incident's recorded fields; unknowns stay marked as under assessment. The commander reviews, approves and submits.

  3. 3

    Reminders escalate

A warning at half the time, an urgent alert 15 minutes before the deadline, a breach alert at the deadline, then hourly until it is submitted.

  4. 4

    Closed with evidence

The incident can't close with a notification outstanding, and every status change is kept in the incident's history.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Is BCMStack a Noggin alternative?

+

Yes, when business continuity is the job. Noggin is an integrated resilience platform with ten solutions, from business continuity to safety, security and investigations. BCMStack covers the BCM lifecycle only — risk, BIA, plans, crisis, incidents, exercises and reporting — with SAMA-shaped workflows built into the product. If you need safety, security or case management in the same platform, Noggin covers more ground.

Does Noggin support the SAMA BCM Framework?

+

Noggin publishes a whitepaper that maps the SAMA BCM Framework principles to its platform, largely through modules and custom workflows you configure. BCMStack takes the opposite approach: a medium or high incident classification opens a SAMA notification with a deadline (4 hours for high and 24 hours for medium by default, both configurable), reminders escalate before and after the deadline, and an AI draft built from the incident's recorded facts is ready for the incident commander to review.

Where is customer data hosted?

+

Noggin announced a hosting zone in the AWS Middle East (UAE) Region in 2024. BCMStack gives every customer a separate database schema, hosted in the EU by default; in-region hosting in Saudi Arabia or Qatar is not shipped today. If data residency is a contractual requirement, raise it with us before you sign.

Can BCMStack send SMS and voice alerts like Noggin?

+

Not yet. BCMStack call trees deliver by email today, with relay confirmations, independent verification pings, stalled-branch alerts and messages in English and Arabic. An SMS provider is not connected yet. Noggin's messaging module supports email, SMS and voice with response links, so it is ahead on channels.

Can BCMStack and Noggin run side by side?

+

Yes. Organisations that already use Noggin for safety, security or emergency management can run BCMStack for the regulated BCM programme — BIA, plans, exercises and SAMA incident notifications — and keep each platform focused on what it does best.
